Marketplace role and assignment outcomes (proposed draft)

Draft — qualified legal review required. This proposed wording is for review only. It is not legal advice and does not guarantee that the wording is valid or enforceable.

PressHire operates an online marketplace that lets buyers and companies find writers, and lets users communicate, discuss proposed work, and record proposed assignment terms. PressHire is not an employer and does not hire or employ writers. Unless PressHire separately agrees in writing to a specific service, PressHire is not a party to any agreement between a buyer or company and a writer and does not act as either party’s agent or representative. Their agreement remains between them; this proposed clause does not replace, amend, or set its terms.

Buyers, companies, and writers make their own hiring, work, and business decisions. PressHire does not promise or control whether a writer is hired, loses or keeps a job, earns income, receives an assignment, or achieves a particular assignment result. PressHire is not responsible for employment, job-loss, income, hiring, or assignment outcomes, including whether a writer is hired, loses or keeps a job, earns income, receives an assignment, or achieves a particular assignment result. PressHire is also not responsible for either party’s performance or for disputes between a buyer or company and a writer, and does not investigate, mediate, decide, or process those disputes. Assignment checkout, funding, custody, payment confirmation, refunds, dispute processing, milestone releases, and payouts are not currently available through PressHire.

Nothing in this proposed wording excludes or limits a duty or liability that applicable law does not permit to be excluded or limited, or any obligation PressHire expressly accepts in a separate written agreement.

Pricing policy summary (draft)

Registration, profiles, listings, browsing, proposals, and communication are free for writers and buyers. A paid commissioned assignment carries an 8% PressHire service fee paid by the buyer; writers receive 100% of the agreed contract value with no platform commission. Independent editorial requests are free to post and remain separate from assignments and sponsored content. A company sourcing fee, when configured, is disclosed before a company responds and applies only if the journalist confirms that company's quote was published. It does not buy or guarantee inclusion, favorable treatment, publication, or quotation. Any writer honorarium is separate and does not depend on publication or quotation. Assignment checkout, funding, custody, payment confirmation, refunds, dispute processing, milestone releases, and payouts remain unavailable.

This is the pricing policy supplied for this draft only. Assignment processing charges and taxes are separate and are not calculated or included here. Other marketplace terms have not been supplied.
